First signs of spring are in the air – from lighter evenings to buds starting to sprout in the garden, we’re feeling warmer days are not too far away! If you’re thinking of selling your home online, you could start decorating for spring to inspire the same motivation and inspiration in potential buyers. Here are some of our top tips on how to style your home to sell in spring:

 

Welcome your guests

Start by looking at your front door and garden – cut the grass, place a few flower pots or hanging baskets (something you can take with you when you move – or invest and plant in the ground), and perhaps even a spring inspired wreath on the door. Ensure the front door is washed – little details count!

 

Breathe fresh air

Open you windows to allow fresh air into your home – even if it is just for a couple of hours. Beautiful scents of spring will flow through your home and clear the stale air of winter, and natural light will immediately elevate your home, making it look bright and positive to potential buyers.

 

Go green

Add plants to your spaces – green foliage makes us feel closer to nature, and is a great way to style your home. Hanging ivy’s look great in spaces like the conservatory and the bathroom, herbs are an excellent addition in the kitchen (and delicious too!), and you can use the flowers from your garden to make bouquets to enjoy at home.

 

Create a feature wall

An easy and inexpensive way to add style to any room is by creating a feature wall – be this an accent colour or textured/printed wallpaper. Go for something subtle when selling as not anyone will have the same style as you – so something which can be easily painted over is your best option.

By adding accessories to your home, you can easily update the look for spring – replace your cushions and throws on the sofa, add new artwork, perhaps even new lamps to cosy up to in the evenings. Styling your home for spring doesn’t have to be an expensive job – look in antique and vintage stores, visit local secondhand furniture shops, find an outlet from a staging company who resell their decorations.
